On a Serious Note

Sometimes we feel like our blog posts don't really communicate a feel for what we do and why we are here. We hope that you don't think that we are on an 18 month vacation. Yes, we have played but we have also worked hard. We have been blessed to do some fun things and to see some amazing sites (some might say exotic but they seem normal to us). These are the occasional benefits of a mission. We want you to know and understand the real reasons why we are here.

We love Heavenly Father and are grateful (much more so now) for all the blessings we enjoy.
Ephesians 5:20
We would like to try and pay Him back for all those blessings - or pay it forward.
Mosiah 2:20-21
We want to show our devotion to God and that we want to follow the prophet.
Deuteronomy 6:5
We are here to serve the Lord and the people of the West Indies.
Doctrine and Covenants 42: 27 & 29
We believe we should practice what we preach, demonstrating our faith and sharing
the good news of the restoration of the gospel.
James 1:22
We are here to learn who we should be and to do good works. We have learned a great deal but still need to learn so much more.
2 Peter 1:5-7

We feel that in our  efforts to do all things, we have again been blessed and are indebted to the Lord for many more blessings. We have created some relationships that we feel will last forever.

Some people say that we are making a sacrifice. Another way to look at it is this - yes we have missed some special family times and have been unable to be there for family members during hard and challenging times. We did all that we could do from a distance, we could fast and pray, think often of those who need help, send cards, letters and emails and sometime make phone calls. We would like you all to know that we have felt the comforting influence of the Spirit giving us strength. We feel certain many of you have felt that peace and strength also. Sacrifice can bring forth abundant blessings from heaven. This has been a marvelous experience. We are very happy to be missionaries for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints..

We are so thankful for all the prayers, love and support that we have felt from all of you - our wonderful family and friends.
