Branch Social

These sisters provided most of the ingredients and the two native sisters did the cooking of a dish called "oil down" for a branch social Saturday to celebrate the independence of Grenada 37 years ago. The actual independence day is Monday.
One of the pots cooking the oil down. The ingredients were chicken, pork, bread fruit, white yams, green bananas, dasheen, shredded coconut and a dumpling type of dough on top. We think it is called oil down because the shredded fresh coconut boils down the coconut oil.
Elder Winzenried and Elder Smith play dominoes with Sister Girdharry and Sister Mentore while waiting for the dinner.
This sister is named Alice and these are her kids. She is not a member but was invited by a member friend. She seemed to have a good time.
This is Brother Smith, first counselor in the branch presidency and his plate heaped with food.
