Two weeks back in the islands we loved so much, beginning with St. Lucia
What great luck we had going to St. Lucia. Bob contacted the land-ladies of our missionary apartment to see if it was available and it was. These two wonderful women welcomed us with open arms to the familiar surroundings of the apartment where we resided for seven months.
On our first morning in St. Lucia we were back walking Vigie Beach just like we did so many mornings two years ago.
How fun it was to see the same sights such as someone carrying their belongings on their head, or a sign that just makes you smile.
GRENADA
Saturday we had pizza with Eunice and Willoughby at Rick's, a favorite haunt of the missionaries.
Sunday at church on Grenada, we had so many hugs we just couldn't get enough. The members we knew when we were missionaries there all wanted to have their picture taken with us. Here we are with Petra, Rolda ,Veronica , and Vaughn.
In this picture we have many of the active local members we knew as missionaries.
Raylene and Eunice at the St. George's, Grenada Airport before our flight back to St. Lucia
On our last full day on St Lucia Bob went fishing with Brother and Sister Nicholas. Raylene went just to watch. Bob was excited when he caught the first fish, a nice little sand shark. Brother Nicholas also caught one and they both had others cut the line just as they were almost in. The next day we had baked shark for lunch shortly before we went to the airport for our flight home. Sister Nicholas is a great cook and the shark was cooked and seasoned to perfection.
Alas, we had to leave, but more great memories of those we love so dearly came home with us.
